Conference on Tomaso Buzzi, protagonist of a modern Italian taste
In connection with the exhibition Tomaso Buzzi at Venini, curated by Marino Barovier (September 14, 2014 – January 11, 2015), the Study Center on Glass of the Institute of Art at the Giorgio Cini Foundation is organizing an International Conference of studies dedicated to great 20th-century architect and designer Tomaso Buzzi., on February 21 at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini. Catalogue raisonné and exhibition: documentary research, works and lighting solutions designed by Tomaso Buzzi for the Venini glassware company
In preparation for the exhibition, which will open at Le Stanze del Vetro in summer 2014, and for the first catalogue raisonné on Tomaso Buzzi’s glass production for Venini, we are carrying out an in-depth research.
Please notify us about any historical photos, drawings, objects, lamps and original documents relating to the works that Buzzi designed for the Murano glassware company during the 1930s in your collection or of which you are aware.
Carlo Scarpa at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY
Following the great success with both public and critics, the exhibition Carlo Scarpa. Venini 1932 - 1947, curated by Marino Barovier, moves to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, under the new title Venetian Glass by Carlo Scarpa: The Venini Company, 1932 - 1947. It will be open to the public from November 5, 2013 to March 2, 2014.
